The band are absolutely delighted to announce that our Solo Cornet player Leila, has only gone and smashed her A-Level results and got into her first place university. Leila will be going to Sunderland University in September to study Primary Education. We are also very lucky she is staying local and will be venturing back for a blow as and when she can. We are extremely proud of you Leila and hope you enjoy your next exciting adventure.
Today the band performed for a very large crowd in the wonderful Wharton Park in Durham. It was great to see so many people turning out on what has got to have been one of our hottest concerts to date.
Our MD Will picked a fabulous programme to play which had something for everyone and featured many of the bands usual soloists as well as a duet by Michael and Valerie on solo cornet. Today was our last summer concert of a very busy period and we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has come along, listened and showed their appreciation. We now take a well deserved break dropping down to once a week rehearsals and a week off at the end of August. If you have any photos or videos of us performing throughout July and August we would love to see them. Today the band had the pleasure of playing to a packed out bandstand as part of the Friends of Saltburn - Supported by the 500 Club Sunday concerts. The band played a varied programme with a little something for everyone. Today's soloists featured Lindsey Rowell on Solo Horn playing An Untold Story and Nicola Evans on Flugel playing Children of Sanchez.
