The Band was informed that Kay McEnaney had taken ill and was to admitted to hospital for tests. The Band wish Kay a speedy recovery, it has been noted that the bandroom is very quiet at the moment.
The Band produced a first by performing in concert with the Karen Stuart Dance Academy in Stanley, this was a first for the Band and the Dancers and we hope to repeat the idea later in the year. There was the usual virtuoso solo performances from Michael Evans and David Oxlee, and Sandy made another appearance. Kay McEnaney who's mother Karen, runs the Dance Academy, also dances and gave us a performance that shows why she is a National Champion for her age group. After the resignation of our Musical Director, Joe Cook who plays with the Black Dyke Band, took up the baton for the concert and did a terrific job. The band would like to thank Joe and hope that he continues to show an interest in the Band.
