Also a big thank you to Hugh Stephenson for taking the photos.

Tonight saw the Band participating in the Durham Hymns Project in Durham Cathedral with the Community Choir and the Durham Miners' Association Brass Band. It was a very moving tribute to the soldiers of the Battle of the Somme. We would like to say a massive thank you to our conductor for the evening Mr Alan Fernie, who has worked us hard in preparation for tonight and for putting us forward for the project. It has been a real honour to be apart of it. Another thanks goes to Alison Lister (and her team) and the Northern Regional Brass Band Trust for commissioning and organising the event.
It is with much sadness that the Band has learnt today of the death of Cliff Johnston. Cliff was secretary of the Band in the early 80's and was one of the persons responsible for the Band obtaining the band hall. Our condolences go to his wife Linda, daughter Christina and son Derek
