Today, the band took part in the 'Little Big Meeting' at West Rainton. It was an honour to parade the brand new banner 'Adventure Lodge' through the streets of West Rainton from the Primary school to St Mary’s Church for a blessing service.
At the halfway point of the march, the band stopped outside the old people's care home and played Sing for Victory for the residents. After the parade, the band played the Miners hymn Gresford and Be Still for the Presence of the Lord as part of the blessing service. The heavens opened but the band played on after squeezing under the gazebos. It was great to be a part of such a lovely community event.
A big thank you to Beth for helping us out on the March.
Today has seen the band play at a private wedding at St Chad's College in Durham. We were the surprise entertainment so we had to hide while the bride and groom got married. It was a lovely afternoon in the grounds and for most of us, our band jackets still fit after quite a while of not needing them!
A big congratulations to Hayley and Ian (bride and groom) from everyone in the band. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day celebrating and best wishes for the future.
