The Band played at a very cold and very windy Dalton Park this morning. We would also link to take this opportunity to welcome Ian to the band, taking up the Solo Euphonium seat and doing his first job. Also, a massive thank you goes to Chris for helping us out on 2nd Euphonium. The Band and the Junior Band then played at Quebec Village Hall tonight. A big thank you goes to Kym and Chris, who helped us out on Euphonium.
The Band are delighted to announce the appointment of a new conductor, Mr Peter Elcoat. He currently plays French Horn with The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and brings a lot of musical experience to the band. Peter will take up his new post in January when the Band are promoted up to the 3rd Section. We are looking forward to working with him.
The Band were proud to participate in the Festival of Remembrance Concert at Durham Cathedral on Saturday Evening and the Sunderland Remembrance Parade on Sunday Morning. During Saturday Evening, the Band played Highland Cathedral, Gresford and The Pitman and on Sunday Morning, despite the wind and the rain, the band played well. A big thank you to everyone who helped us out this weekend.
