The band have now completed our final Christmas engagement and our final engagement of the year. We are now going to take a small, well earned break to recharge our batteries ready for the New Year and contest season.
The President, Committee and all of the Members of the Bearpark and Esh Colliery Band would like to thank you all for your support during the year, and wish you all A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And remember folks . . . Keep Music Live!
The band performed with the Crook and Weardale Choral Society tonight at Stanley Crook Church. Both the band and choir were really on form and both gave very impressive performances and blended together perfectly for the David Wilcocks carols and joint items, 'Stille Nacht' was particularly impressive. The packed audience (there was actually people standing as there were no seats left) were more than impressed and had great praise for our very own Laura da Costa who sang 'Santa Baby'.
The band has had a very busy weekend starting of at Beamish Museum playing at the 'Beamish at Christmas' evening event. The band proved very popular (as always) playing a great range of Festive music, and compared to a couple of years ago when it was -8°C, it was a fairly warm night.
We followed this up with a weekend at the Locomotion Museum in Shildon. A great favourite with the band where we spread Festive Cheer to the visitors (and staff). The band will be at the Locomotion again next weekend so why not come along and say hello to us.
