Tonight has seen the Band perform at the Armed Forces Day Weekend Celebration in Sunderland tonight. We ended the evening joining up with the singers to perform the traditional Last Night of the Proms pieces. A big thank you goes to all of our helpers tonight.
The Band would like to say a massive thank you to the County Durham Community Foundation for their generous grant to allow us to lower the Band Hall Ceiling. This has greatly improved the Band Hall environment, which includes new lighting and better acoustics. It will also be a lot warmer in the winter.
Today has seen the Band perform at a very hot and sticky Wharton Park today. We certainly needed our sun cream and water today. It was also nice to see so many people visiting the park and enjoying our concert. Thank you to all of our helpers today.
The Band has had an enjoyable albeit hot day yesterday next to the iconic Tommy Statue in Seaham as part of Seaham Council's Brass at the Seaside. A big thank you goes to all of our borrowed players who helped out today, it is very much appreciated.
Today has seen the Band perform at Saltburn Bandstand today. The performance went well although it was windy and we managed to avoid most of the showers. We also had a wonderful audience to play to as well. This was the first of many concerts over the summer season and a first for Phillip Tait, the new conductor. The Band also dedicated Angels by Robbie Williams to all of the victims and fatalities in Manchester and London. A big thank you goes to all the players which helped us out today.
