The Band performed at a Charity Concert tonight to raise funds for the Children's Diabetic Insulin Pump Appeal ran by Dr. Bull Lamb at Bishop Auckland General Hospital. It was a great night with one of the highlights was that of Dr. Lamb appearing in Wee Willie Winkle artier to read "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" which was set to music.
The Band would like to welcome Daniel Maitre to our ranks. Daniel will be playing Bass Trombone. Also, Alison Duggan resigned from the Band.
The Band held their AGM and Awards Ceremony tonight and were delighted that the Band's Life President, Dr. Bill Lamb was able to attend, albeit slightly late after getting lost in Esh Winning. There was also a new award presented tonight sponsored by Vince Eckerman. It is for the Most Improved Section during the Area Contest rehearsals. A list of winners can be found on the Awards page under "Most Improved Section".
Richard Evans took part in the Durham County Brass Band Association Solo Contest today and this was the last time he could enter the 11 Years and Under Section. Richard was crowned the Solo Champion in this Age Group. Well Done Richard from all of the Band.
