This past year has been one of the most successful for the band, as you can see from our trophy cabinet. A massive thank you must go to everyone in the band for their hard work, everyone behind the scenes for helping out and our supporters/general public for your continued support. We are very proud of our achievements especially our National Finals result. 2015 has definitely been a year to remember!
Trophies: Battle of the Bands, The Alan Hutchinson Memorial Trophy (Best Bass Section - DCBBA Contest), The Ralph Bell Memorial Trophy (Best Principal Euphonium Player - North of England Brass Band Championships), The Denis Wick Trophy (3rd Place, National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain), The Gordon Kitto Memorial Trophy (Best Principal Cornet - DCBBA Contest), The Ruecroft Shield (2nd Place - North of England Brass Band Championships) and The Northern Echo Challenge Cup (1st Place - DCBBA Contest).
This morning, the Band were at the opening of a Mining Memorial for Esh Winning today.
This evening, some of the Band helped out at Hugh Stephenson's Mass Band Concert to help Hugh's 'Build a School for Nepal' Project
Tonight, the Band held their Annual 'Brass, Pies and Peas' Fundraising Concert at Newhouse Club in Esh Winning. Once again, we had our fantastic singers: Richard, Karen and Helen. Also, we had our Junior Band playing at the start of the concert and they did really well. The Senior Band then began their part of the concert. Overall, it was a fantastic night of music and the Band would like to thank Richard, Helen and Karen for singing with the Band.
Also, Michael Evans was awarded with his 40 Years Service Award tonight.
