Nicola Evans & Liam Moody competed in the Durham County Brass Band Association Solo Contest today30/10/2005 Nicola Evans and Liam Moody both competed in the Durham County Brass Band Association Solo Contest today. Nicola did better than her 3rd Place last year by winning the competition. Liam equalled last years position by coming 4th. Once again, this is an excellent result for both of them and great for the Band as well. Well done to both of them. I am sure that both players would like to thank Ceri for accompanying them on Piano, and to Michael for his guidance throughout.

The Band held their AGM and Awards Ceromony tonight. A list of winners can be found on the Awards Page.
The Band performed an open air concert in Durham Market Place today. This was in aid of the world Vision Brass Band Aid Project. During the 2 Hour Concert, the Band raised £350, added to this the C.D. Sales and we made £500 for the project. One of the project managers, Steve Robson, who is also the bandmaster of Stanhope Silver Band, was delighted with our effort. The Band was only too happy to do our little bit Steve.
The Band performed a charity concert tonight in aid of Children's Diabetes at the Bishop Auckland Town Hall. The concert was a great success and enjoyed by an enthusiastic audience. In Attendance was Dr. Lamb, who is one of the leading doctors in Diabetes at the Bishop Auckland General Hospital where all the proceeds are going. Dr. Lamb also does a lot of fundraising for the cause. The Band to date has raised £1300 for the charity.
A Special Mention must go to Daphne Evans who plays percussion in the Band. She has done almost all of the organising and running about for the concert, and she isn't even on the committee. The Band would also like to thank the following for their contributions:
