It was a busy end to June for the band with performances at the Sunderland Armed Forces Weekend (Friday 28th), Sunderland City Centre (Saturday 29th) and a workshop event for the preparation of the National Finals. Alongside these performances, the band also held a Coffee Morning fundraising event at Elvet Methodist Church on Saturday morning to raise money for the upcoming National Finals in Cheltenham.
On Friday evening, the band performed at the Sunderland Armed Forces Weekend alongside the Rock Choir from Chester-le-Street, Durham, Hexham, Newcastle, Ponteland & Sunderland. Everybody enjoyed what was a great night an there was an amazing atmosphere created during our "Last Night of the Proms" joint set with the choir. A big thank you goes to Ed Chapman for conducing and our deps Paul and Claire for helping.
On Saturday morning, the band held their Coffee Morning fundraising event to raise funds for the upcoming National Finals.
On Saturday afternoon, the band performed in Sunderland City Centre for a London based film company who are making an LGBT film about the Stonewall Riots and features Sunderland. Phillip performed Feeling Good as one of their featured tracks. A massive thank you to our deps Claire, Dave and Paul for helping out.
On Sunday, the band started its preparation for the National Finals with a workshop style event. Lots of progress was made towards the testpiece. A big thank you goes to Graeme Tindall, Ed Chapman and Adam Reed for being excellent tutors during our sections and also to Pittington Primary School for hosting us.
