Band engaged to perform at Beamish - Museums at Night programme. The event took place in the Pit Village and Colliery Yard and was designed to showcase the working life of an Edwardian Miner. There were exhibitions about miners pastimes including playing in a colliery band, gardening, keeping pigeons, playing Quoits and Shove Ha'penny - whilst their wives baked or made proggy mats. Once again, the weather was not particularly kind and it was fairly cold (more like November). Not to mention every time the Band had a break to go for fish and chips the queues were back to Chester-le-Street (or so it seemed). We had to recommend the wonderful pies and pasties, not to mention first class beef stotties!!!!
